first_imgThe Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) Program Director isresponsible for the graduate Marriage and Family Therapy program inthe Henry Predolin School of Nursing, Business, and HealthSciences.  The incumbent leads the structure, organization,daily administration, review and evaluation, continued development,and general effectiveness of the Program.  The ProgramDirector is responsible for supervision of faculty, students andinternship activities.Responsibilities:Develops and plans academic curriculumProvides leadership and vision for the creation andimplementation of a strategic plan for the MFT Program.Designs, implements, and administers all aspects of theeducational program for students enrolled in the MFT Program.Formulates, implements, and administers all policy, procedure,and documentation for acquiring and maintaining accreditation inline with affiliating partners and with the accrediting bodyCommission on Accreditation of Marriage and Family TherapyEducation (COAMFTE).Prepares, analyzes, and documents all qualitative andquantitative benchmarks as required for outcome assessments andannual reports.Maintains all educational records for the program inconformance with state and federal requirements.Conducts on-going assessments of educational programming,including reviewing and evaluating new teaching materials.Teaching duties as assigned.Evaluates effectiveness of teaching by reviewing graduateperformance.Monitors theory and clinical instruction/internships,grading and other faculty instructionWorks closely with the faculty and staff to coordinate graduatestudent instruction and clinical internships sufficient tofacilitate achievement of program goals.Secures written agreements of relationships with internshipsites, and evaluates suitability for future internship sites. Develops and maintains relationships with variousdepartments and parties associated with theaffiliationCommunicates with instructors regarding continuing educationactivities.Responsible for updating policies and program materials asneeded based on organizational policy and COAMFTE standards.Participates in advisory committee meetings.Works with the School of Nursing, Business, and Health SciencesDean to maintain budget for MFT program and ensure that there aresufficient financial resources to develop and sustain theprogram.Interacts with community groups, business and industry leadersregarding their specific educational needs.Supervises students in the programParticipates in recruitment of students for the graduate MFTprogram.Oversees application process and participates in studentselection including screening of applications, interviews,qualitative and quantitative analysis of applicants, and finaldecision making in the selection of students for enrollment ingraduate education.Counsels students on unsatisfactory performance or inability tomeet the minimum requirements of the Program.Ensures students are well prepared for the MFT Licensingexam.JOB QUALIFICATIONSNecessary Education or Work Experience:PhD/PsyD or equivalent preferred or in progress, MS degreeacceptableLicensed (or licensable) in Wisconsin in Marriage and FamilyTherapyKnowledge of the various fields of systems therapyStrong teaching skillsStrong administrative skills2 +years clinical experienceAAMFT approved supervisor or in supervisor track Required Knowledge and Skills:COAMFTE standards for accreditation, including CoreCompetenciesKnowledge of field of MFT (systems theory, foundationalmodels)AAMFT Code of ethicsWI State standards for licensureMicrosoft Word and ExcelExcellent oral and written communication skillsEffective skills in teaching and mentoringOther Qualifications:Edgewood College, an Equal Opportunity Employer, is committed toacademic excellence through diversity in its faculty, staff, andstudents.
