first_img©AAKAAK inaugurates new customer innovation centre in SingaporePosted By: Contributoron: September 28, 2018In: Bakery, Confectionery, Dairy, Food, Functional, Industries, Ingredients, InnovationPrintEmailAAK has opened a new customer innovation centre in Singapore as it aims to further strengthen its capabilities and customer co-development approach in Southeast Asia.The facility is located at Biopolis, an integrated research and development complex that houses research laboratories of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies as well as public sector research institutes. Torben Friis Lange, AAK president AsiaTorben Friis Lange, president of AAK’s Asian unit, said: “This state-of-the-art centre will be focused on applications within chocolate and confectionery fats, bakery, ice cream and dairy, and special nutrition.“With this investment, we are dedicated to support our existing regional customers and give them access to AAK’s global solutions as well as build new customer relations to further support our growth in Southeast Asia.”He added: “Southeast Asia is one of the fastest-growing economies on the continent and the demand for speciality and semi-speciality edible oils is expected to grow strongly in the region.”The functional ingredients and fats supplier has similar centres around the world in which it works with customers to develop value-adding vegetable oil solutions.Earlier this year it opened a facility in Japan in a move to boost its product development capabilities.The investment followed news that the company signed a distribution agreement with United Arab Emirates-based Food Specialities Limited, which has made a range of AAK’s products available in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region.Share with your network: Tags: AAKSingaporelast_img read more
